Enter The Dragon: Aries & Libra
All of astrology talks about fate and destiny but there are two characters in the story of the zodiac which rule matters of Fate more than the rest -and they're not even planets. Instead, the lunar nodes -North and South- are two points, or "nodes", on either side of the globe which represent the places where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic. These two nodes are represented in astrology as a serpent, divided into two parts, which winds around the earth. The North Node, or Rahu, is this serpent's head, and is said to be hungry and obsessive and relate to fate and destiny. The South Node, or Ketu, is its tail, and is said to process karma and purge energy to maintain balance.
The effect of these forces in the fate of the world, and in each of our lives, can be predicted thanks to astrology, and we can anticipate these changes and adapt accordingly. Nothing will prevent the nodes from working their (often unpleasant) magic on you but the transits of the lunar nodes, and the eclipses that come with them, map the phases and critical turning points of our lives so that we can navigate their powerful currents without being swept away.
In July of 2023, the lunar nodes entered new signs: Aries and Libra (north and south, respectively). In this episode I take a deep dive into the new nodal axis: how it has manifested again and again in my own life, what this transit means for the world, and how it may feel for everyone else, according to their rising signs.
Following the transits of the lunar nodes can help you understand where you're going, what you're running from, and how to balance those energies to make the most out of their evolutionary effects.

The lunar nodes are the two points where the moon's orbital path crosses the ecliptic, which is the sun's apparent yearly path on the celestial sphere. They move backwards relative to the planets on the Zodiac, transiting a sign every 18 months, more or less the last year and a half. The nodal axis, the imaginary line running through the earth connecting the nodes has occupied the signs of Taurus and Scorpio and as of the end of July 2023, the nodes have shifted into the signs of Aries in Libra and thanks to Aries, fiery nature and premier position in the Zodiac, this transit will bring with it a lot of aggressive change and well, just aggression in general. The story of the nodal shift into Aries and Libra isn't taking place in a vacuum, though. It's part of a celestial choreography which includes Venus and Mars as sign rulers, Mercury is an intermediary and problem solver, the Sun as a timepiece, and the hidden hand of Pluto corrupting and revealing the evils of the world. There's a lot going on in the sky these days. These are fated times that we're living in. But to really understand this transit, you have to go beyond the astrology and put what's happening in the sky in context with what's taking place on the ground in the muck of our imminently violent timeline. Casting a look back at prior nodal transits of Aries and Libra provides a pretty clear picture of the combustible, but also initiatory and self empowering themes of the next, just shy of, 18 months of our lives with the insatiable energy of the North node in Aries, this transit will be a time for starting new endeavors and expanding conflict around the world. At the same time, the South node occupies the opposite side of the chart in Libra with its diminishing purgative influence. Libra represents balance, fairness and the collective. Globally, the nodes visiting these signs carries heavy implications of violence and ideological sectarianism. And as the nodes square Pluto, we can also expect fresh new hells of totalitarianism. But that's the scene and the setting for this time period on the global stage. How this expresses for each of us individually will vary dramatically based on our rising signs, which we'll discuss in detail signed by sign before the end of this episode. in this episode, I'm going to take you on a comprehensive exploration of the lunar nodes ingress into Aries and Libra. How it will affect the world, how I'm interpreting this transit personally, and how I expect that it will play out for everyone by rising sign. Stay tuned for all of that in just a moment. Welcome to the 21st episode of The Postmugglism Podcast. On this show, we talk about magic, astrology, regenerative thinking and other ways to bring the better future that we all know is possible into being. In this episode, we're taking a deep dive into the recent ingress of the lunar nodes into the signs of Aries and Libra, what that means for the world and what it means for each of us. According to our rising signs, the lunar nodes speak to our fate or destiny and our karma and the natural talents that we possess from our past lives. The nodal axis moving through the Zodiac shows us the fated and Karmic forces at work in the world and in our own personal lives, which will have the greatest impact on us during this time. understanding what's happening to the nodes helps you understand what's driving you, what you're running from, and how to strike the right balance between the two. And this makes life so much more livable in difficult times like the ones that we have ahead. Many of you have already had energy healing sessions with me, and for that I'm very grateful. But then again, many of you haven't yet as well. I really love introducing people to shamanic healing because surprise, surprise, not that many people have experienced it or even know what it means, but it's remarkably potent, really effective stuff. And I think everyone who hasn't tried it yet is missing out. But I know how it is to spend money on something as radical sounding as shamanic energy healing, just to find out if maybe it works. Thanks for letting me get that business out of the way. Now, let's get into this episode by laying some foundations first, starting with a quick but detailed explanation of the role of the lunar nodes in astrology. The north node and the south node also called Rahu and Ketu in Vedic Astrology are two points on either side of the earth where the moon's orbital path crosses the ecliptic. Visualized as a dragon, which has been severed into two parts. Head and tail. The head of the Great Serpent is Rahu, and Ketu is the serpent's tail. Rahu represents fate or destiny, a materialistic need, the need to be able to hold something, touch it, feel it in your hands, etc.. But Rahu is the head of the Great Serpent and he has an appetite which cannot be satisfied, causing us to focus obsessively on whatever area of life is associated with the sun. It's hosting the north node, which in this case is in Aries. Ketu, in contrast, represents karmic energy an the lessons of past lives. Lessons that were hard then, but easy for you now. And he is the tail of the dragon and associated with purging in karmic debt. Wherever Ketu is, that part of your life is going to deflate, diminish or disappear entirely. But your purging to make space for something better later on. Semiannual pairs of solar and lunar eclipses fall very close to the nodes and are considered part of the 18 month nodal cycle. They are, in fact the big moments of the transit where the nodes are expressing their effects most intensely. Eclipses, particularly lunar eclipses, tend to align with often traumatic expressions of our individual fates. These are the big reveal moments, but you might not always enjoy the surprise. the nodal axis moves through the zodiac backwards. One sign approximately every 18 months with eclipses every six months to punctuate the transit. These mark important turning points that generate momentum for your ongoing evolutionary process. The nodal axis. This last placement was in the signs of Taurus and Scorpio North Node and Taurus South Node in Scorpio, which brought a strong focus on financial matters, hunger for new land and territory, and just generally put the focus
on material things:money, food, land, resources, stuff. That's Rahu working in Taurus, obviously, but it also brought on some serious karmic processing with Ketu in Scorpio. All those hidden fears were brought to light and in some cases conquered and released. The South node was transiting the sixth house. In my case, so this was especially true and especially intense for me personally. This coincided with my shamanic training, which was basically more than six months of deep shadow work and a perfect fit for a 12th house Ketu Transit. The North node in Taurus was in my sixth house and I was focused on diet and health in a very big way and also learning a new vocation. So this was also a perfect fit in this case for the Sixth House of Health and Work. and before that the notes were in Gemini and Sagittarius, putting the south node in my first house, i.e. evacuating or purging my identity and personality and processing karma related to it, which took place as I abandoned a successful marketing career to move to Mexico and start a new path which I hadn't even fully figured out yet. Another perfect fit, obviously. The Gemini North node part of the transit related to a hunger for new ideas, new influences and inspirations, intellectual matters and communication. I was reading voraciously, researching our move and learning how to navigate life in a foreign country, learning all kinds of new things all the time, and talking all of it over with my wife. Gemini is my seventh House of Marriage and Partnerships, so this is a pretty clear match for those North Node and Gemini energies. The most impactful of these transits for me, though, was definitely the north node in cancer. My eighth house and the South node in Capricorn, my second house, the north node in cancer was a very emotional time and its placement in the eighth had me transforming myself radically to please others and to gain access to their money and power. And it sounds gross when I say it now, but this is when I was getting promoted like crazy and finally getting paid what I was worth. Ironically, with the South node and my second house, I was also losing money through some very expensive, random and honestly unfair situations at the same time. Now turning around and quickly moving forward to that same timeline, let's look again at how perfectly each period aligns with the significance of those nodes in each of those signs and houses. I first started paying attention to the lunar nodal axis in 2019 with this eighth House, second House transit in effect, North node in the eighth house and cancer South node in the second house in Capricorn. Transforming myself into what other people wanted so that I could become successful while still managing to lose a pretty significant amount of money to other material concerns. and then the north node in my seventh house in Gemini and the South node and my first house in Sagittarius had me voraciously reading, learning, researching Mexico and talking about plans and dreams with my wife constantly, while also giving up my identity and starting a new life in a new place. and then last it was the north node in the sixth house in Taurus with the south node and the 12th house in Scorpio, focusing on my health and diet and training for a new vocation as a shamanic healer while purging all my childhood trauma and shadow stuff as part of that initiation. So what does this tell us about what comes next now that we can clearly see how the movement of the nodes marks and in some ways defines an 18 month period of time, we can look forward on our timeline and use the signification of Rahu and Aries and Ketu in Libra to understand this, its effect on us personally and also in the world around us as well. First off, let's talk about the signs of Aries and Libra and what they signify in this configuration. Each of the 12 signs is ruled by one of the seven visible celestials, The Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter or Saturn. Each of the planets, excluding the sun and moon, rules two signs and the sun and moon known as luminaries. Rule one sign each. Their rulership provides the sign with its qualities and characteristics, and this in turn, affects any celestial that is currently stationing within its bounds. In the case of Aries in Libra, the signs are ruled by Mars and Venus, respectively. Areas is the first sign of the Zodiac and thus a place of beginnings, aggression, ambition, big get shit done energy. The Rams horns signify the brute force that is needed to break inertia and start to accumulate momentum. it's the energy required to move against gravity and friction. But it's therefore also as confrontational and obstinate as a ram butting heads. As a way of life, as the first sign, it suffers from ego, inexperience, selfishness and a lack of tact. Always placing individual gains above everyone else's concerns. Libra, positioned across the Zodiac from Aries is essentially its opposite, where Aries is focused on the individual. Libra is all about the collective, where Aries is aggressive, self-centered and forceful. Libra is passive, balanced, and diffuse. Libra is a sign of peace, harmony, group mindedness, equality, idealism, rules and laws, order and intellectual refinement. To oversimplify the difference intentionally so that it's very clear if these two signs were political ideologies, areas would be capitalism and Libra communism, or perhaps socialism. We combine the signification of the North node with areas in the south node with Libra, the general nature of the transit is revealed as two poles achieve balance as complementary opposites. The north node in Aries is eager to start new ventures, push boundaries and pursue individual aspirations. It is hungry for being tested by conquest and for achieving victory. Whereas the South node in Libra is purging collectivism. It's leaving communities behind and quite likely working out some of the generational trauma of the post-World War Two years, as we'll see in just a moment. It's also a diminishing of balance, fairness and togetherness, which will be replaced by the hunger for personal achievement, independence, and I'm sure predation of various sorts. The best way to understand the transit ahead is to review some of its history roughly 18 years ago and 18 years before that and before that and so on. There were other factors at work at each of these times, of course, and that's why we say history rhymes rather than repeats. Nevertheless, we can learn a lot about this transit from the nodes, prior circuits through the signs of Aries and Libra, courtesy of a few very talented astrologers whose content is linked in the show notes for your convenience, including S.J. Anderson. Lunatic Astrology, Marin Altman and Susan Hopkins. the last time that the north node was in Aries and the south node was in Libra was in 2004 and 2005, and most notably just after the ingress of the nodes into areas in Libra, a massive earthquake caused a devastating tsunami which ultimately killed at least 225,000 people, probably more. Maren Altman pointed out that during this period, North Korea announced that it had nuclear weapons. A number of infamous terrorist attacks and assassinations took place, not to mention Saddam Hussein's trial. It was a very violent time with a lot of memorable news headlines. Then going back another cycle in 1986 and 1987, there were again a number of violent events, such as the terrorist attack on Berlin, the US bombing of Libya and the infamous Iran-Contra affair. Reagan was president and the Cold War was coming to a head as the Soviet Union was being successfully destabilized and falling into political chaos at this time. Further back on the timeline, another cycle. And we land in 1968 to 1969, which lines up with Bobby Kennedy's assassination, which is obviously highly resonant with the current nodal and election cycles. and then even further back in 1949, we get the founding of NATO, preceded by the cycle before that when the U.S. entered World War Two. There is a pretty obvious repeating theme of violence and strife in the world, but particularly around the US led Western empire and its efforts to maintain hegemony. We can already see these themes returning in this cycle with NAITO bullying around the world and edging closer to open conflict with old rivals. The destabilization of the Soviet Union was a victory for Western hegemony, but I don't think it's going to work out the same way this time. There's also already a sharp rise in violence, extremism and disasters, natural and otherwise, all around the world. lunatic astrology pointed out another less obvious but very important dynamic of this nodal transit that will occur in early 2024 when the north node conjoins the minor planet. Kyron Aron is the archetypal wounded healer in Greek mythology, and the last time Kyron can join the north node in areas was in 68 and 69 during the Vietnam War, which clearly manifested a lot of wounded people in the world. given the growing hostility between the West and, well, everyone else, this certainly looks to be in play again. There is a noticeable resonance between this area's Libra nodal transit and the one in 68 and 69, particularly with the highly charged politics of the Kennedy family on full display. Again, this is pointed out by SJ Anderson a number of times on his YouTube channel. The Kennedy’s struggles with various three letter agencies back in the sixties and their eventual assassinations is in unsettling resonance with RFK Jr's campaign and his recent very loud attacks on the Western intelligence community. Good luck to him pairing that with resonance to Reagan's Cold War antics of the mid eighties, the forming of NATO in the wake of WWII and the escalating European conflict, and the efforts of Roosevelt to provoke the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor, which brought the U.S. into the conflict. these synchronicities demonstrate the fated nature of lunar node transits quite dramatically. the lunar notes tell the stories of the greatest and most impactful intrigues of our timeline, which over the last several generations have been the story of the rise and fall of the unipolar world, as if the Moirai themselves were telling the tale. Here are some key phrases to frame up The North nodes transit through
Aries:hungry for new beginnings, new projects, new journeys, etc. kicking off, beginning with enthusiasm, pushing forward, making an impact. Lighting a fire. Aggressive independence. Violent revolution. Needing to stand on your own. Making your own way. Putting yourself first. Going to war. Addicted to conflict. Self-aggrandizement and conflagration.
And now for some south node in Libra:Less peace, more war. The karma of old conflicts breaking apart, collectives isolating, resisting the mainstream self-indulgence, a lack of fairness, lack of tolerance, xenophobic, disconnecting, decentralized housing, lawless or anarchistic and antisocial. These are obviously a mixed bag, but this is the way of Ketu. Unpleasant experiences are often necessary to maintain balance. Now, looking at the astrology ahead of us instead, let's summarize what's coming down the pike by looking at the dates of major importance during this period and listen carefully to the degrees of each of these eclipses in particular so that you can look at them in your own chart and see if you have any placements within plus or minus five degrees. If you do, these will be especially intense and meaningful events for you. First up, October 14 to 2023. Solar eclipse at 21, Libra ten. then on October 28th, 2023, we get the final lunar eclipse in Taurus, closing out that prior cycle. Then on March 25th, 2024, there's a lunar eclipse at 5 Libra 13. And then on April 8th, 2024, a solar eclipse at 19 Aries 22, Then on September 18th, 2024, the lunar eclipse skips Aries and moves into Pisces instead preparing for the next cycle to begin. And on October 2nd, 2024, we get a solar eclipse at 10 Libra 2. Then on March 14th, 2025, the lunar eclipse is in Virgo for the first time in this cycle. And finally, on March 29th, we get the last solar eclipse at 8 Aries 52. So October 14th and 28th of 2023, March 25th and April 8th and September 18th of 2024. And finally the last one, March 29th, 2025 for that last eclipse in Aries on and around the eclipses, particularly in the two weeks between the eclipses in a pair (solar and lunar or vice versa), The most pivotal twists and turns in the story of this transit will take place. You can, metaphorically speaking, set your watch by it. The lunar eclipses of this transit all take place in Libra near the south node, which suggests that these will be the emotional and unpleasant kind, and the solar eclipses may even feel light and buoyant. In comparison. Lunar eclipses are generally considered malefic because they tend to be dramatic and traumatic, as a result; with doors opening and closing, significant events taking place, etc. Stuff happens to you. Solar eclipses are generally more like realizations, discoveries, coming to understand yourself and your situation better, and starting new chapters in your life. More likely an epiphany moment than a big event. the eclipses act as time release stimulants to your energetic experience. They scare you or force you to take action by being presented with a crisis or some other uncomfortable experience that shapes you as you react to the situations in your life. reading the tea leaves a bit here. There's going to be more awakening than revolution during this transit. There's several north node solar eclipses in areas and the sun is exalted in that position. So this should be fairly uplifting compared to their lunar counterparts. Solar eclipses are big realizations, not big events. So I expect to feel empowered rather than overwhelmed in April of ‘24 and March of ’25. But then we also have a number of other celestials making aspects to the nodes during this time, which wie will all feel reverberating around the areas of our chart they occupy. One of the most enduring aspects to the nodes through the early stages of this total transit is Pluto's on and off again square to the notes that started in March of this year, goes direct in September and separates until December 7th. Pluto started this aspect in Capricorn, dipped into Aquarius for a little while and then retrograde it back into Capricorn, where it will stay until the end of the year. What we'll be feeling from this aspect from now until November. December is a Capricorn flavored Pluto, something very familiar to us since 2008. The most obvious read is that the machinations of the globalists that brought us the end of Pluto's time in Capricorn originally are repeating themselves loudly right now, and that this is in general at tension with the nodes’ plans in Aries and Libra, namely moving the social consciousness onto a nationalist war footing. on September 26, Mars conjunct the South node while Venus is trailing the North node in this dynamic of Venus and Mars, pulling in opposite directions in a sense is reminiscent of their dramatic separation in July after they spent weeks dancing within a few degrees of an exact conjunction with each other just prior to Venus Retrograde and Mars, picking up speed as it moved on into Virgo. S.J. Anderson talked about this in his video on the nodal ingress, describing how various factors at play during the initial ingress of the notes into areas in Libra back in July are all tied into the ongoing story of this nodal transit such as Pluto Squares and of course, the dynamic between Venus and Mars, which are also the sign rulers of the two signs, Aries and Libra, which the nodes are occupying during this transit. as such, Pluto's hidden, corrupting influence will be working behind the scenes with greed and political ambitions feeding the crucible which will eventually forge the hostilities that the Mars ruled North node in Aries will whip into an even greater frenzy in 2024. While the Venus ruled South node in Libra will ensure everyone continues putting their own interests above the collective, the sun moves into Libra on September 21st and conjoins the south node on the 12th of October in preparation for the next eclipse on October 14th. This puts the focus temporarily anyway, on the karmic exchange taking place in Libra rather than the aggressions of the North node. However, that's not much of a respite from the negativity because the south node in Libra represents a diminishing of the importance of collective interests in favor of a more self-centered focus. the sun stationing on the south node, followed shortly after by Mercury, puts this energetic drain front and center for all of us in different ways. Since this is a lunar eclipse, there is likely to be a significant event in your life that kicks off or speeds up this releasing process in a big way. On a global scale, we can expect to see a greater fracturing of Western political interests and the divide between ideological camps to increase, notably during the September October timeframe. This hopefully also manifests as a push for individual liberty and privacy against the biological and ideological authoritarianism of Western nations. On November 25th, Venus can joins the South node and increases our desire for isolation and may also leave us feeling like certain things that used to bring us joy or comfort in the past no longer really suit us. This will probably deepen reservation across ideological lines globally and in the U.S. in particular, we can expect to divide the idea of national divorce, specifically to show up more often in public discourse between this Venus self and conjunction and the one next year on October 31st, as well as the subsequent lead up to the U.S. general election in November of 2024. Then in December on the 11th, the sun trines The North node finally applying its energies towards meaningful action in the Aries front, i.e. more conflict, escalation, new projects, new adventures, etc. This is then reinforced in a big way by Mars training the North node over the Christmas holiday. Something about this new direction gives us difficulty right away, though, in January, as the sun squares the nodes, creating confusion about direction that will have to be worked through. Then, January 10th, Chiron, the wounded healer, attends the north node, most likely indicating a tragic increase in the misery and harm caused by escalating conflicts as it did the last time that it appeared in this configuration during the Vietnam War. On a personal level, this will manifest according to your Rising Sun. And I got this bit about Chiron from lunatic astrology on YouTube, who did a great video about this Aries Libra nodal transit by rising signs, including Chiron. So if you want to know more about this particular aspect, follow the link in the show notes to watch that video. February 2nd, Venus squares the notes and Chiron for a few days, forcing us to assess the products of this nodal ingress thus far. Are they in line with our desires? Are we healing yet? Probably not at this time. and unfortunately the strain of the north nodes bloodlust in Aries and the South node’s self isolating effects in Libra will no doubt weigh heavily on important relationships. This will be true for each of us in whatever house of your chart that Venus occupies for you and where the nodal axis lies. But it's just as true for the theater of global affairs. However, if you're an Aries Rising, you have Libra in the seventh House of Relationships. And so this will be especially true for you. Venus squaring the nodes causes tension between fate(the Moirai) and desire (Aphrodite). And this will inevitably boil to some kind of a head because Aphrodite is not accustomed to not getting her way and the fates are immovable forces. So much like the Venus Retrograde that we've just been experiencing from late July through early September of this year, we'll all be forced to reconcile these opposing forces by letting go of incompatible relationships and drawing our circles even tighter around us. Of course, this aligns perfectly with the South node in Libra, which will be trine the Sun in Aquarius, reframing our priorities around togetherness and collectivism, possibly towards new communities and possibly just towards greater self-reliance and isolation. Mercury kicks off something of a procession of north node conjunctions when it meets the north node starting on the 16th of March. On March 25th, though, we're back to Libra for a lunar eclipse, signaling some kind of significant event that forces you to begin that south node purging, integrating process in earnest wherever Libra is in your chart. Then the procession picks up again with a conjunction to the sun, starting on the 31st, which culminates in the solar eclipse on the 8th of April, and then Venus's conjunction starting on the 14th of April, retrograde mercury again starting on the 15th, and then finally a month later, on the 14th of May, the main act begins finally, as Mars conjoins the north node in his domicile in Aries. If there's a better start a global conflict signifier in a chart, I can't imagine what it is. On a personal level, though, this could manifest as just starting some bold new project or having a big fight, depending on the house that Aries occupies in your chart and the condition of your Mars etc.. It feels like during the end of 2023 and the early part of 2024, this transit builds momentum, rising to a crescendo and culminating with the Mars North node conjunction in May. the sun squares the nodes, starting on June 28th, taking a brief pause for personal reflection and evaluation, and then Venus can joins the south node starting on August 31st, presumably beginning to wrap up our purging process. Mars squares, the nodes starting on September 7th. And this will likely make winning any victories harder during this time. and then the sun conjoins the south node around September 24th, shedding light on everything that's transpired here. And what that means to us now. And this takes place between the lunar eclipse and Pisces on September 18th and the solar eclipse in Libra on the 2nd of October. As the eclipses start to move out of Aries and Libra, the remaining aspects to the notes and the signs start bringing this story to a close. On November 12th, Venus begins squaring the nodes again, shifting desires in new directions like a change in the wind. And then on December 18th, the sun squares the nodes and Neptune, who is conjunct the north node, putting our core values at a square at attention with fate and the planet of dreams and delusions. Sadly, this is not a configuration that will help us make rational choices. And with Mars in prideful Leo once again, Christmas cheer in 2024 may be in short supply due to violence and strife in the world. But what happens in the world at large is really never indicative of what our personal experiences of that same astrology will be like, since we're all leading different lives and the details matter. to understand how this ambitious, bold and in some ways alienating transit will take shape in our lives. It's necessary to use our individual natal charts to orient the map of the territory ahead by our rising sides. when you look at a birth chart, the first house is the eastern horizon where the sun rises and the seventh house is the western horizon where it sets. This is why we call the first house the rising sign The other reason the first house of your birth chart is important is that it determines which sign falls in each house, particularly in whole sign astrology. We can always tell which house the planet falls in a whole sign house chart if we know it's rising sign. For example, I'm a Sagittarius rising and in zodiacal order Sagittarius is the 10th sign from Virgo on the Zodiac wheel, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, cancer, Leo, Virgo ten. So Virgo occupies my 10th house of career and public image, knowing that you could guess that I've been working hard on my business strategy, while Mars (the planet of hard work) has been in my 10th house(of career) in Virgo, (the sign of detail oriented planning). And you would be right. in this way we can orient the Zodiac wheel to each rising sign to see how the drama of this nodal ingress will play out for every sign. And I'm going to do that in just a second. But first, I'd like to strongly recommend that if you're interested in knowing more about how this transit is going to affect your life, you should book a session with one of these astrologers that inspired me during my research of this transit. I am, for the record, not a (scare quotes) “real” astrologer by any means, particularly when it comes to natal or horoscope In astrology. I'm getting pretty good electional astrology because of lunar mansion and predictive astrology because of an obsession with geopolitics, but I consider myself just dangerous enough to make YouTube videos, not offer astrological consults or real guidance. links to each of the astrologers whose research I've referenced in this episode are in the show notes. In case you want to take my advice. Okay, so from an amalgamation of ideas, some of my own, but definitely not all here are emphasis on brief descriptions of the themes and energies you are likely to encounter during the nodal transit of Aries and Libra by Rising sign Aries risings, you have the north node in your first house in the south node and your seventh, which focuses the intensity of the north node on your identity self, psyche and behavior, your personality in particular, the part of it which everyone sees. This is a time for redefining or expanding your identity, carving your niche, finding new passions and ambitions, starting new chapters in your life, and so on. you're going to be very focused on yourself and what you want and need, perhaps to the detriment of your relationships if you're not careful. and the south node transiting your seventh house is purging relationships anyway, motivating you to spend more time isolating yourself, and perhaps even leave relationships that no longer suit your needs. Your takeaway is this is about personal evolution. You will not be the same person after this transit, and thus your most important relationships are either getting restructured as well, or you may choose to abandon partnerships that no longer fit you. Taurus risings. The north node is in your 12th house of unseen things. Your shadow self unconscious, your blind spots, etc. and the South node is in your sixth house of work health routine and pets expect to spend a lot of time focused on your deepest, darkest secrets, fears, desires and your karmic obligations. if you're an occultist, obsessing about spirituality, necromancy, and finding hidden truths is also very much on the table. the south node will be purging parts of your life and processing karma related to work health routine and pets. This can be very literal and unfortunate, like the loss of a pet or a job where it can be more metaphorical, like changing up your routine or getting rid of bad habits. But if so, it's likely happening because of some life lessons you're learning which relate to settling some karmic debt. Think old habits that you don't know why you have, but you finally decided to get rid of or getting rid of the job That's toxic and bad for your health. And so your takeaway is this is heavy stuff. Shadow work isn't really fun, but it's good for you and it's necessary and there's nothing you can do about it besides lean in and be ready to cut loose whatever routines, bad habits, jobs, etc. are working against your wellbeing mentally, physically and spiritually. Gemini Risings. You have the North Node and the 11th House of Friends and Networks and this is also known as the House of Good Spirit. And so this transit is considered fortunate for you as the North node will magnetize you to attract good people and positive attention. this will expand your profile, your network, your reach, etc. setting you up for promotion and public recognition. The trade off is that the South node is draining the fifth house of fun, play, and children. So all this public attention limits how much free time you have and you'll have to keep a close eye on your priorities to make sure they don't suffer from the North Node’s obsessive energy. Your takeaway is this is your time to shine publicly, to be the center of attention. So make the most of it. Make hay while the sun shines, as they say. But don't completely neglect to spend time with your kids if you're a parent or to allow time for your own form of fun and play Cancer risings., you have the north node in the 10th house of career and life's purpose and the South node in the fourth house of Home and Family With the obsessive North node in the house of career, this one explains itself. You're going to be very focused on your career or your vocation, your your life's work. so much so that you may be forced to trade time with your family for time invested into your career. With the South node draining energy from your fourth house, or if not your family, certainly from the house itself, maintenance and so on. or alternatively you may lose a parent with the South node in your fourth house if they're getting older or another relative. I certainly hope not. But the fourth house is associated with both death and family in ancient sources. Your takeaway is this could be when your career takes off or your path in business becomes obvious as your reputation and profile is going to be getting a big boost during this transit, you might get a promotion or just be very successful at your job or whatever it is that you consider your life's work. the only potential shadows cast on this good news is that it draws energy away from your family home, etc. And additionally, you may have to deal with the passing of a parent or relative, and this could naturally create complications with your heavy work schedule. But not everyone will experience that. Leo risings, you have the north node in the ninth house and the south node in the third house. The ninth house deals with matters of spirituality, belief, long distance travel, legal matters, and publishing. The third house relates to siblings, your local community, short distance communication, writing and skills based learning. Spirituality may become your new obsession, or maybe travel, or maybe you produce a body of published works or become obsessed with a legal case or a legislative issue. If you're in those sorts of careers, The South node in your third house is draining energy from local relationships, local networks or siblings. perhaps you just can't spend the time with them that you used to. Or maybe there's something at odds and you don't want to anymore. Maybe it's time to move away from the old neighborhood or to spend less time with childhood friends and influences. Maybe you just need a good social media cleanse with all the many associations of the third house, the possibilities are kind of broad. Your takeaway is you're going to want to throw yourself completely into your new obsession, which may be travel or spirituality, or if you're involved in a legal case, publishing or politics, you may be receiving a big win of some kind. But local, collective, communal and social areas of life will take a hit in the process. Virgo Risings You have the north node in your eighth House of Death and other people's money and transformation and your south node in the second house of wealth and material resources. As you can guess, the South and drawing energy from your wealth and resources isn't much fun for my experience, but it forces you to go through an important priority shift before the south node transits and purges. Your first house of identity when the nodes move again. The eighth house is a weird one to navigate. It's the House of Death and transformation, debt and other people's money. So you might get an inheritance or you might be living on someone else's income for a while. or maybe you get audited or work hard to get yourself out of debt, chances are you will undergo some kind of significant transformation that you didn't expect. and it may be a bit expensive. Your takeaway is prepare for change. Don't tense up before the crash. You're going to emerge from this transformation like a butterfly from its cocoon. If it doesn't kill you, Life's an adventure. Go with it, but watch your finances and your resources because this period of time is likely to cost you more than you expected. Libra risings. You have the North node in your seventh House of Marriage, relationships and partnerships and the South node in your first house of self and identity. This transit will have you purge your sense of self so fully that it's hard to really know for sure who you are anymore. I just went through this a couple of years ago, so I know. And in that time it's really helpful to have someone that you can lean on. It's also a good time to find someone, ironically, because it's a mind and spirit opening time, that strong lust for a new sense of self and purpose makes you more vulnerable and it makes you realize how important those key relationships are to success and happiness. The fiery energy of Aries makes this an unusual time for Libra risings because the intensity and self-centered focus of Aries runs contrary to the social collectivist libra and tendencies, This diminishes the energy that you turn inward and sends it instead out into the most important relationships in your life. Your takeaway is you have to lose yourself to find yourself. But in the meantime, it can be very anchoring to put your partner first or to open yourself to a new love or partnership. During this time. Scorpio risings you have the North node in the sixth house, in the south node. In the 12th house you'll be forming new routines and new habits and have a strong desire for regularity and structure, a boost in drive and productivity ambition. And you'll be getting serious about your health or getting organized. Or I suppose you could rescue a bunch of pets or something. The south node will drain the energy from your 12th house of the unseen of the Shadow self, etc. meaning that you'll be processing a lot of karma at this time. Something heavy but intangible and difficult to put your finger on. The only way out is through, and it's best to lean in with energetic healing, clearing your own chakras regularly as well, and being very gentle with yourself and probably spending a lot of time alone. your takeaway is endure the uncomfortable shadow work you're going to be doing with the South node in your 12th house by throwing yourself into your health, routine and mundane activity. Sagittarius Risings. You have the north node in the fifth house and the south node in the 11th house. This is my configuration, so I spent a lot of time thinking about this one. The compulsive and obsessive North node in the fifth House of Children fun play art, creative expression, sensuality, romance, Venusian types of things. Sounds like a lot of fun or a big burst of creativity, a season of glamor and romance, finally getting to let loose. For the first time in your life, there's also the off chance that it might mean having a kid or perhaps focusing on your kids, like quitting your job or going part time to stay home with the kids, that sort of thing. The south node in the 11th House of Friends is isolating. Obviously, it's a purge of social circles and networks. It's also likely to relate to karmic debts that are working themselves out, removing one type of energy by healing a wound from your past or your past lives. Even that has repeatedly put you in situations with toxic social dynamics Your takeaway is spread your wings, have some fun, live a little. This is a period to focus on your creative spirit, either by expressing yourself in art and play, or by finding your joy in children and be prepared to let go of old social circles and obligations that are getting in the way. Capricorn Risings. You have the North node in the fourth house, in the south node in the 10th house, which taken very literally looks like leaving a job to focus on the home or building a home or homesteading. It could also look like focusing on family, expanding the family, being forced to make decisions based on family needs rather than what would be better for your career or fame or something like that as well. The South node ends the parts of our lives that support old energetic patterns, talents that we were born with that stretch us and force us to evolve in the direction of the north Node. Your takeaway is the career, or at least the public facing aspects of your life Get sacrificed at the altar of building sanctuary, focusing on family, and who's part of your immediate day to day life. Aquarius rising you have the North node in the third house of communication skills, intellect, learning, neighbors and local community siblings and so on. the south node in your ninth house is spirituality, travel, legal matters, higher learning, philosophy and ethics. This suggests that your focus may shift from far to near, from travel, lofty ideas and matters far from home to what's close by in your neighborhood. It's coming back home after living abroad are moving back home after going to college. It's a move from isolation in faraway places and abstract frameworks of mind to the local, tangible and the intricately interconnected. the South, no draining energy from the ninth house could also suggest the loss of a court case, the inability to travel or leaving higher education for something more technical and practical. Your takeaway is where your heart and mind may have been in some faraway land or obsessing over intellectual pursuits. This transit places a focus on what's nearby, local and rhizomatic versus what's high mind, remote and elitist. Pisces rising's -the last of the bunch- you have the North node in the second house and the south node in the eighth House, focusing your attention on the creation of your own wealth and the gathering of resources and letting go of external sources, i.e. other people's money or credit. This is a time for getting out of debt with the intense focus of the North node, supporting your financial endeavors in an exciting new way and the diminishing effects of the South node in the eighth House of Debt, Inheritance and personal Transformation is supporting this change. The South node may also be clearing up karmic residue that has kept you in a codependent state or suppress your desire for personal achievement. Here, the draining of energy from the eighth House says that your time of transformation is over, and it is time for the slow grind of turning your dreams into reality. Your takeaway is hard work and focus will pay off literally while relying on the support of others will leave you wanting leverage the flow of energy that is leaving the eighth House of Other people's resources to the second house of your own wealth and potential.
